Why study in Finland as an international student? The Finnish education system is regarded one of the best in the world and Finnish Universities offer about 450 international programmes in English. The Finnish Government and Universities offers some bachelor’s and master’s scholarships for non-EU international students and doctoral scholarships for most international students.

Tuition fees for non-EU/EEA students has been introduced from autumn 2017 onwards for English-taught Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes. Doctoral level studies will remain free of tuition fees.

Finnish universities and UAS’s offer scholarship options for gifted non-EU/EEA students admitted to their fee-charging degree programmes. The scholarships are often based on your academic performance, and may be offered in the form of either full or partial fee waivers, performance-based refunds, etc. Some scholarship options may also include a living cost allowance.

Refer to the list of Finnish Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences at www.studyinfinland.fi to find information on what the Finnish higher education institutions offer for international students. Information on the scholarship options and tuition fees is available on each individual university’s own web site.
