Course description:

The Masters specialisation in Water and Environment is a specialisation of the Masters programme in Biology, at Radboud University.  This specialisation is connected to the Institute for Water and Wetland Research (IWWR), a leading institute in research to wetland ecosystems and stress biology.  This specialisation covers the whole range from organism to ecosystem and environment. Students will cover courses such as Ecological and Environmental Concepts, Management of Ecosystems, Biodiversity Assessment, and Environmental and Ecological Modelling.

It is a 2-year full-time Masters course taught in English, at the end of which students will graduate with a MSc in Biology. The programme begins in September.

Entry Requirements:

In order for students with an international degree to get admitted to this Masters programme, they will need to hold a Bachelors degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences or a related field of science. The international degree has to be equivalent to a Dutch university diploma.

They need to be proficient in English. Native speakers of English are those from Australia, Canada (with exception of Quebec), Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, USA and South Africa. Non-native speakers of English without a Dutch Bachelors degree or VWO diploma need to possess 1 of the following:

• A TOEFL score of >575 (paper based) or >90 (internet based);
• An IELTS score of ≥6.5; or
• Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with a mark of C or higher.

Non-native speakers of English who do not meet the above English requirements may undertake a bridging programme, called a pre-Masters. You can qualify for a pre-Masters programme if you have diploma in one of the following orientations:

• Secondary teacher training with qualifications for Biology;
• A laboratory assistant training that sufficiently links up with the specialisation of your choice; or
• A pre-university (A-levels) high school diploma with Biology and Chemistry, or a training of a comparable level during your university of applied sciences training.
