Course description:

The Master of Applied Science in Humanitarian Health at Johns Hopkins University is a fully online, part-time Masters degree program that spans 2 to 4 years. Specifically, the program addresses humanitarian emergency and disaster response planning and assessment, program management and leadership, and advocacy. The program is offered by the Bloomberg School of Public Health, in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Center for Humanitarian Health. The MAS in Humanitarian Health will focus on specialized education and research as well as practical skills needed for work in the humanitarian health field.

The online Master of Applied Science in Humanitarian Health prepares future leaders to address the large-scale public health, science and health service challenges experienced in humanitarian and disaster settings. Students go on to fulfill vital roles as public health practitioners, researchers, program directors, scholars and policy makers. Graduates gain necessary tools to adopt and adapt to the rapidly changing roles of the humanitarian professional and to support humanitarian organizations in service delivery, applied research and public health advocacy. Entry Requirements:

Applicants should be working professionals with a Bachelors degree from an accredited university, with more than 2 years of post-Bachelors degree health-related experience in or focusing on low and middle income countries or under-served populations.

Most applicants from countries where English is not the official language must submit scores of an English language proficiency test. Johns Hopkins University will accept scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
