Course description:

The Master of Engineering in Energy and Environmental Management at the University of Flensburg aims to qualify students for employment as professionals in the energy sector. More specifically the course qualifies students to recognise and analyse energy and environmental problems, and  to facilitate and manage the process of sustainable problem solving. The specialisation “Energy and Environmental Management in Developing Countries” is made up of 3 subject areas – Business Economics and Energy Economics, Project Management, and Renewable Energy and Energy Planning.

This is an 18-month full-time course taught in English commencing March 2022, with a 6-month pre-semester beginning in September 2021, comprising economics and German language. The University of Flensburg does not charge tuition fees.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants must have an above-average Bachelors degree in Engineering (at least 4 academic years and the degree cannot be older than 6 years), as well as professional experience of at least 2 years in a field related to the course focus. Internships are not included in this 2-year work experience requirement. They must also be able to prove their proficiency in the English language by submitting an internationally recognized language certificate (TOEFL iBT Score 80, IELTS Band 6). A certificate that English was the language of instruction is not sufficient for admission. Native speakers of English are exempted from this English language requirement.

Applicants should also possess the ability to recognise problems and solutions in their entirety and creativity and openness to innovation. They should have the ability to think and communicate in interdisciplinary and intercultural ways and are able to work in teams and to lead and to motivate teams. Female applicants are particularly encouraged to apply.
