Brief description:

Students from all over the world who wish to undertake the Master in Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED), which is hosted by a consortium of 4 universities in Europe, can apply for the Erasmus+ Scholarships. The GLOBED has been awarded an Erasmus+ grant by the European Commission for the period 2018-2024. Each year, 25 students join GLOBED, either receiving the Erasmus+ scholarship or as self-funding students.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

There are 2 categories of scholarships: Partner Country scholarships and Programme Country scholarships.

Partner Country scholarships provide for € 6,000 per year for travel costs for students who stay more than 4000 km away from Barcelona, and a monthly subsistence of € 1,000 for the duration of the GLOBED programme, which is 24 months. Participation costs of € 14,500 are fully covered. An installation cost of € 1,000 will be given for those who are from Partner countries.

Programme Country scholarships provide for travel costs of € 2,000 per year for scholars who reside in Programme countries and € 4,000 for students who reside in a Programme country not further than 4000 km away from Barcelona. Programme country scholars will also receive a monthly subsistence of € 1,000 for the duration of the GLOBED programme, which is 24 months. Participation costs of € 9,000 are fully covered.

Both Partner and Programme Country scholars will have their medical insurance fully covered, for 24 months.

Eligibility:

Eligible applicants for Partner Country scholarships are students who are not nationals of an EU country, Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein, Turkey or the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). In addition, they cannot be residents of these countries nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last 5 years in any of these countries.

Eligible applicants for Programme Country scholarships are all other students who do not meet the criteria for Partner Country scholarships (this includes all nationals of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein, Turkey and FYROM, as well as, people who have spent more than a total of 12 months in the EU over the last 5 years).

For Editions IV, V, VI and VII (2019-2024) of GLOBED, a total of 3 scholarships will be given to students coming from ENI South countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia. A minimum of 75% of the Grants must be allocated to Partner Country students.

A maximum of 3 Grants will be allocated to students from the same country and students with more than 1 nationality must state in their applications under which nationality they are applying.

Application instructions:

Applications for Erasmus+ Scholarships for the GLOBED 5th Edition, which will start September 2020, must be submitted online by 10 February 2020.
