Rhodes Scholarships at Oxford University (UK)
2021 Rhodes Scholarships will open on 1 June or 1 July 2020 to international students from Australia, Bermuda, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Jamaica & the Commonwealth Caribbean, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Southern Africa (including South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia and Swaziland), Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine (SJLP), United Arab Emirates, United States, West Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The scholarships are towards a Masters or Doctoral Degree in most fields of study offered at University of Oxford in UK. Deadline varies per country but is around July-October 2020 for courses commencing late September 2021.

The Deutschlandstipendium at German Universities (Germany)
2020/2021 The Deutschlandstipendium is open to international students from all countries. The scholarships are towards Bachelors and Masters degrees in any field of study offered at participating universities in Germany. Deadline is university-dependent.

Friedrich Naumann Foundation Scholarship for International Students (Germany)
2020/2021 Friedrich Naumann Foundation Scholarships are open to international students from all countries. The scholarships are towards Masters and PhD degrees in any subject (except LLM, MBA and PhD studies in dentistry and medicine, offered at universities in Germany, Switzerland and other EU countries. Deadline is 31 October 2020 and 30 April 2021 for course starting October 2020 and April 2021 respectively.

One World Scholarship at Afro Asiatisches Institut Salzburg (Austria)
2020/21 One World AAI Salzburg Scholarships are open to students from developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The partial scholarships are towards a Master or PhD programme at a university or university of applied sciences in Salzburg or Tyrol in Austria. Deadline is 31 July 2020.

Váradi Distance Learning Scholarships at University of London (Anywhere)
2020/2021 Váradi Scholarships are open to international students from all countries, particularly those from developing countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The scholarships are towards applicable online Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Psychology, Law, and Supply Chain Management and Global Logistics, offered at University of London in the UK. Deadline is 17 July 2020. Course starts October 2020.

Tuition-free International Masters Programmes at Norwegian University of Science & Technology (Norway)
2021/2022 Tuition-free Masters Programmes taught in English are open to international students from all countries. The scholarships are towards Masters degrees in any International Masters programme taught in English offered at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Norway. Deadline is 1 December 2020. Course starts August 2021.

Owen Browning Scholarships in Forestry at the University of Canterbury (New Zealand)
2021/2022 Owen Browning Scholarships in Forestry are open to international students from all countries. The scholarships are towards Masters degrees in Forestry or Environmental Science, and PhD degrees in Forestry or Forestry Engineering offered at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. Deadline is 1 November 2020. Course starts January 2021.

IWC Scholarships for Master of Catchment Science at Griffith University (Australia)
2021/2022 IWC Scholarships for Master of Catchment Science are open to international students from all countries. The scholarships are towards Masters degree in Catchment Science offered at Griffith University in Australia. Deadline is 1 August 2020. Course starts February 2021.

ANU Fenner School of Environment & Society PhD Scholarship (Australia)
2021/2022 ANU Fenner School of Environment & Society PhD Scholarships are open to international students from all countries. The scholarships are towards PhD degree in Environment and Society offered at the Australian National University in Australia. Deadline of applications for international students is 31 August 2020. Course starts March 2021.

University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarship (New Zealand)
2020/2021 University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarships are open to international students from select countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America. The scholarships are towards undergraduate and postgraduate degree studies in any subject offered at the University of Waikato in New Zealand. Applications can be submitted at any time of the year. Course starts in AY 2020.

Master of Ecosystem Management and Conservation (MSc) at University of Melbourne
The Master of Ecosystem Management and Conservation at the University of Melbourne is a 2 years full time or 4 years part-time on-campus Masters degree by coursework that prepares students for a wide range of ecosystem, forest and landscape management employment pathways, as they gain specialist knowledge in the biophysical and social aspects of ecosystem management. Applicants must hold a valid undergraduate degree, or a combination of a relevant associate degree or diploma with professional experience. The application deadline for Semester 1, 2021 entry is 31 October 2020. The application deadline for the Melbourne Graduate Scholarships coincide with admissions while that for Melbourne Humanitarian Access Scholarship is 30 November 2020.

Master of Public and Social Policy (MPP) at Macquarie University
The Master of Public and Social Policy at Macquarie University is a 1-year full-time Masters by coursework degree that has a dual focus on policy analysis and applied social research. Students will explore in depth how policy is shaped, and acquire skills to help them analyse, design and deliver effective policy solutions to serve the public. Applicants must have a bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution considered equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree (Level 7 on the Australian Qualifications Framework). International students are asked to apply 2 or 3 months before the AY 2021 term start dates, which are: 22 February 2021 (Session 1, 2021) and 26 July 2021 (Session 2, 2021). The application deadline for Australia Awards is 30 June 2020 for most countries.

Economics for Development (MSc) at University of Oxford
The MSc in Economics for Development at the University of Oxford is a 9-month full-time taught Masters degree with a strong emphasis on bringing methods of modern economic analysis to economic development theory and policy. Applicants must have, at a minimum, the equivalent of the UK qualification of a first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours in economics. Applications for September 2020 entry reopened on 28 May 2020 (the earlier round of applications was due on 24 January 2020).  Deadline for Rhodes Scholarships for AY 2021 is around July-October 2020.

Master of Science in Globalisation and Sustainable Development (MSc) at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)
The Master of Science and Globalisation and Sustainable Development at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is a 2 years full-time taught in English Masters program, that prepares students to analyse the complex interactions between the political, economic, cultural and social trends which are having profound effects on our contemporary world. Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in Humanities or Social Sciences. Applications for August 2021 entry for international students will open in October 2020.

Global MBA (MBA, PgCert, PgDip) at University of London
The Global MBA program at the University of London is delivered online, and students will take 1 to 5 years to complete the course by distance learning. The Global MBA is accredited by a number of professional bodies, including CMI and CIMA. Applicants via the direct entry mode must have a second-class honours bachelor degree or equivalent from an acceptable institution, as well as 3 years’ work experience in a managerial role (within the past 5 years). The application deadline is 15 June 2020 for July 2020 start. For a later start, the application deadline is 7 September 2020. The application deadline for the Váradi Scholarships is 17 July 2020.

Master of Science in Environmental Science (MSc) at University of Canterbury
The Master of Science majoring in Environmental Science at the University of Canterbury is a 1 to 2 years full time Masters by coursework degree that provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the environment, incorporating its structure and functioning, and human interactions with the environment. Applicants must have completed a relevant Bachelors degree from a recognised university, or a postgraduate diploma in either Science or Engineering Geology, or any other Bachelors degree with a qualifying programme. International students should apply for the course as early as possible; preferably by 1 November 2020 for Semester 1, 2021 entry (February 2021), and by 1 April 2021, for Semester 2, 2021 entry (July 2021). The application deadline for the Owen Browning Scholarships in Forestry is 1 November 2020 and that for the Sir Neil Isaac Scholarship in Environmental Science is 30 November 2020.

Master of Catchment Science (MSc) at Griffith University
The International WaterCentre hosts the 2 years full time taught Master of Catchment Science program, which is delivered in collaboration with Griffith University and on Griffith’s Nathan campus. The degree is designed to develop a new generation of water professionals who understand the full mix of bio-physical processes required to solve catchment issues. Applicants must hold a related Bachelor degree (or higher) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) and at least 1 year of professional experience; or any 1 of the following certificates: 1) Griffith Graduate Certificate in Catchment Hydrology; or 2) Griffith Graduate Certificate in Catchment Processes. The application deadline for Trimester 1, 2021 entry is 31 January 2021 and for Trimester 2, 2021 entry, is 3 June 2021. The application deadline for the IWC Scholarships for Master of Catchment Science for international students is 1 August 2020.

EdX MicroMasters® Program in Leadership in Global Development at the University of Queensland
Balancing theoretical knowledge with practical abilities, the Leadership in Global Development MicroMasters program provides the strong technical and management skills you need to tackle the most demanding and complex challenges in global development. This program certificate will demonstrate that you have the advanced competencies that international development agencies are increasingly demanding from their leaders and managers. After gaining a verified certificate for each of the four prerequisite courses you will be awarded the MicroMasters program certificate in Leadership in Global Development.

 

If you are more inclined to take a short course, EdX offers many short courses in social sciences, environmental studies, economics and finance.
