edX is a learning platform that gives students from any country the opportunity to take free online courses offered by premier Universities around the world. Online learners can earn a certificate of completion after completing the course.
There are currently about 800 courses in a wide variety of disciplines: biology, business, chemistry, computer science, economics, finance, electronics, engineering, food and nutrition, history, humanities, law, literature, math, medicine, music, philosophy, physics, science, statistics.
There are about 60+ participating Universities which include Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of California Berkeley, McGill University, Australian National University, Wellesley University, Georgetown University, University of Toronto, TU Delft, and The University of Texas System.
The Global Freshman Academy from Arizona State University
The Global Freshman Academy offers individuals of all backgrounds the opportunity to take the same courses, from the same faculty as on-campus Arizona State University students. MicroMasters
MicroMasters programs are a series of graduate level courses from top universities like MIT, RIT, Columbia University, UPenn, designed to advance your career. They provide deep learning in a specific career field and are recognized by employers for their real job relevance. Students may apply to the university offering credit for the MicroMasters certificate and, if accepted, can pursue an accelerated and less expensive Master’s Degree. See the Master’s courses!
