Scholarship description:

The Swedish Institute offers scholarships to highly-qualified international students from several countries who wants to pursue full-time master’s level studies in Sweden starting in 2014 autumn semester.

Number of Scholarships:

For 2014-2015, a total of 550 scholarships will be granted (450 within Category 1 and 100 scholarships within Category 2)

Target group:

For 2014, citizens of the following countries can apply for the scholarship within the following categories:

Category 1:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar (Burma), Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Category 2:
Candidates with citizenship from the majority of countries on the DAC list of ODA recipients can apply to this program. Check the official website for citizenship priorities.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

The scholarship covers tuition fee, living expenses, some travel grant, and insurance. See the official website for full scholarship benefits.

Eligibility:

The scholarships are only intended for students who are required to pay tuition fees according to the information at University Admissions.  There is no age limit for scholarship holders.  See the complete eligibility criteria at the official website.

Applications are currently closed. A list of eligible programmes for 2015/2016 will be posted along with application instructions at the official website in late 2014.

It is important to read the application procedure and visit the official website for detailed information on how to apply for this scholarship.  Deadline for admission applications  is 15 January 2014.   The scholarship application period for the academic year 2014/2015 will be 3 February-11 February 2014.
